1233988 2011-09-27 13:27:00 They seem to have some pretty good shirts at $20-30. Question (15792)

1233990 2011-09-27 19:47:00 Depends on what you call larger, im certainly not slim and find their range fine. Alex B (15479)
1233991 2011-09-27 20:02:00 Larger is an issue in any shop, I have trouble finding shirts myself (prefer 4XL for the extra length as I'm very tall and not skinny ). Hallensteins is ok, quality tends to be reasonable. Farmers has a good range also. If you like the latest trends I can't help you though :)
I buy way too much clothes at the warehouse myself lol.

1233992 2011-09-27 20:15:00 Most of their stuff is decent quality and comfortable. I'm on the larger side, some of their L-sized stuff is slightly tighter or shorter fit than normal so I usually go for XL there, and never had a problem. inphinity (7274)

This is what I meant, that trend goes up the range so you have to buy at least one size more than you are.

1233994 2011-09-27 20:51:00 I went to Hallensteins in Waikanae recently and bought two business shirts (only wanted one, but they had a deal on for two). I couldn't buy my normal size (43) in one of the colour/pattern combos, so I bought a 43-44 in one and a 45-46 in the other, on the promise I could exchange the bigger one at any shop in NZ if it didn't fit. To my surprise, the 45-46 is the better fit - seems to support the idea that Hallenstein's sizing may be a bit suspect. However, the shirts cost $29 each which is a great price for a formal shirt, and they seem well made and comfortable - Hallenstein's own branding. Held together in the packaging with clips rather than millions of infuriating pins... John H (8)
1233995 2011-09-27 22:38:00 I've discovered that Glasson's is a good place too. (yes yes, I know it's a womens shop)

Plain long sleeve merino polo necks for $30. They come in a great variety of colours eg red, orange and let you wear just about anything on top, like plain black

They were great in the recent cold snap. But that's their problem - too hot for normal temperatures. I'm now trying cotton equivalents from Ballentynes, another womens shop

(For those of us getting on in years, the turtle neck also hides the wrinkles :) )

1233996 2011-09-27 23:29:00 Farmers is very good as well.
Reasonable/good quality , reasonable pricing.
I often wait for their Red Dot sales & then stock up.

Almost wherever you go, its all made in China :clap :clap

1233997 2011-09-28 00:05:00 Kmart is actually surprisingly good quality for the price. I would say short of going to real high end ($$$) places, they would be my pick. Their range isn't perhaps as extensive as some others though I find in terms of styles. inphinity (7274)
