2396 1999-07-09 00:20:00 Hi

I ran a 'Power Play 2' Cd with games and deleted the games afterwards but
then found that my computer was playing up.

What happened was that at boot up it would come up with 'Non-system disk or
disk error, replace disk etc.' However there was no disk in my A: drive at
the time. I put in a boot disk and the computer booted alright but now would
not recognise my CD drive. I ran through the config.sys and autoexec.bat
files step by step and they failed at the CD lines only. My Bios is ok I
think, the bootup sequence is A:C:
When I run a little utility on my CD utilities disk called chiop.exe after bootup I can get my CD rom to work but this is not the best solution obviously.

What would make my computer now only want to boot from A: and not from C:? Why would with no disk in the slot will it give me an error message? And why is the CD rom drive now not being recognised?

I am running win 3.11 and dos 6.22
