2470	1999-07-18 10:51:00	I have a PCI 4MB Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 card with a new monitor I bought recently. At the past had a 6yr old AOC model while playing vcd at a good rate. My PC is a AMD-k6-200 with mmx, 64mb ram and running win95. No matter what vcd program I chose with my old monitor, I was getting good frame rates such as, near 30. Then I bought a New Viewsonic E655 15' monitor and all things went wrong. Such that when I switch to 16bit my frame rate drops right donw such as 15frames (my old monitor got 30) and when I switch to 24bit I get 7frames (my old monitor got 30). Also when I boot up I see the win95 screen, I see excessive flickering at the top left side. When I get into windows I still see it but when I switch to 120/100Hz most dissapear. Also top left corner goes blur ro sharp repeated to such a degree I need to shake my head when i typing in MSWord. All of these were very minimal when I had my 6yr old AOC interlacing monitor with the same diamond card. I still get this when I plug monitor to my laptop instead. My laptop is a IBM Thinkpad 380ED whcih goes upto 800*600*16bit@85Hz. The only improvement I get is the laptop can go full speed at the frame rates regardless whcih colour bit I choose. But corner is still flickering and sharpness-blurness repeated. I moved my desktop pc to a different room and it did the same thing. I've been to my retailer and he said the blur-repeated is normal for comp. monitors??? But he didn't boot comp. so i couldn't see the flickering at win95 startup screen. At time of sale he said to me warranty is valid anywhere in New Zealand (where I bought from). He hasn't been so nice so is it correct just to bring to any other viewsonic reseller??? Any solutions??
