The cd player and modem have sound when they are playing/dialing, but when programs on the pc are running and suppose to have sound there is none e.g cards, when you empty the rubbish, icq sounds etc....if you turn the pc up to the maximum level you can just hear the program's default sound. I've had the computer looked at before for the same problem (about 6 months ago), and the technician said that the 'computer was kinda hidinng it'....???
