I have a Compaq Presario 1685,somtimes when I try to check email or access the internet the dial up is almost complete and for no ryme or reason my machine shuts down. It then tells me I,m a pratt for no shuting down properly,runs scandisk and restarts in safe mode.If I shutdown and resart from safe mode it restarts insafe mode. If I shut down from safe mode it restarts fine.I have run the Compaq diagnostics and no worries there, I have checked every log file I canfind for clues but nothing.
I even run tne restore disk supplied by Compaq but with the same result. Please help before this laptop ends up on a roof top. Thanks Jim |
