| 2847 | 1999-08-31 08:49:00 | Gidday, Sorry to have to pester you guys about this, but it's been getting on my wick for a while, so I've decided to fix it. When I'm using Internet Explorer 5.0 (under Windows 95, with ICQ, Getright, NAV4, Norton Scheduler and NSnotify running) my browser has a habit of selecting text. It's as if the shift key is being held down... if you click somewhere in a paragraph, the entire page is suddenly selected from the beginning up to the point where you clicked. Pressing the shift key once, or sometimes the CTRL key, fixes the problem... for about two minutes. Further evidence that it's something to do with keys is by clicking on links... they appear in a new window when this problem is active. Also, every types in caps until you press shift once, and sometimes you can be typing something long (such as this) and letters will be missed, even though you've typed them. To further puzzle me, you can sometimes hold down a key (eg hold down '9' for a row of '999999') and it'll insert another character, randomly, somewhere along the line. Is this a virus, or is it just a conflict with something? Trust me, I'd REALLY love to know... you can just imagine how continually pressing 'shift' can get just *slightly* annoying. :-) Thanks, Kerry Du Pont |
