I have recently upgraded the RAM in my machine myself. I have noticed that my CD-ROM drive no longer works. I am certain the two things are connected. Windows 98 does not recognise a drive where one used to be. I have tried the install new hardware utility and that does not work. I have tried using the drivers disk (floppy)from the comand prompt with no success. My startup disk has not resolved the problem either. I am unsure if this is a problem caused by me 'poking around under the hood'...which I did very tentatively or if somehow the installation of the additional RAM has caused this, I did have to completely remove all the RAM and replace it. I hope somebody can help me with this.
