| 2812 | 1999-08-28 01:41:00 | Something has caused my desktop font to change to a fat, ugly font that is almost unbearable to cope with! As a result, [Win95] is using a strange font which is stuffing up the GUI of all applications. As an example: If I click the start button, the pop-up menu appears...but where there should be arrows indicating that another menu is available if selected, all I have is an eight[8]? (Everything works mind-you, but the display is screwed!) Another example: All combo boxes have a six[6], to navigate with...where there should be arrows? The whole thing is stuffed! It seems to me that the OS is using another font as its default. I would like it back to what I think was Tahoma.ttf. Tahoma.ttf is installed in C:\Windows\Fonts. (Note: I had deleted Tahoma from the Fonts directory, [It's a long story, and I don't want to go into it], but I have recently downloaded Microsoft's updated Tahoma & Tahoma Bold TTF fonts.) A vain attempt to correct the problem using a Plus!95 Desktop Theme did not change the font (Except for perhaps making it Italic). I hope it will be a simple registery tweak! Could someone please guide me to the Path of Enlightenment... |
