| 2821 | 1999-08-29 09:31:00 | OK here's the deal, Machine: 486DX2 66Mhz 420MB H/D I wanted to add a CD-ROM drive. Put it in as a slave to the hard drive, set jumpers accordingly. Boot up system and once in Windows (95) - system freezes, only option: cold boot. Restart, system freezes at RAM check. System continues to do this at various stages - I sometimes can get though to shut down from Windows. Remove CD-ROM. Restart system - nothing. No display whatsoever, hard drive spins up, A: drive won't access and no beeps. Just black screen no other action - power fan spinning fine - WHAT HAPPENED??? Thanks for reading - your comments would be appreciated, Paul |
