| 2889 | 1999-09-06 09:34:00 | This might seem like a dumb question but I would like to know if I can resume downloads direct to a partially downloaded file. The other night I was downloading a 17MB trial programme which got cut off about 2/3 of the way through. I tried to reconnect and continue the downloading but found I had to start over again. The 'Get Right' download programme which I am using with IE5 said that the server I was downloading from did not support resumes, meaning I have to start from scratch and download the whole lot again. With a 33.6K modem this can take a while. Is there any way I can continue the download straight into the partially downloaded file (10MB) which is currently setting in the temp folder on my computer, so as to complete it? Specs are: Pentium 133, 48MB RAM, Win98, 33.6K modem Any thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks Darryl Lennane |
