2858 1999-09-01 11:46:00 My son has a P90 with 64M RAM. A couple of months ago one of the Ram modules failed, not a problem, Kingston happily replaced it under their lifetime warranty. The other day another one went. We haven't even had a chance to sort out which one has died and now he has suffered a hard disk failure. He had four 16Meg EDO Ram modules and just a small drive, 620 Meg. It had been shutting down all on it's own on the odd occasion recently. Upon booting, the system halts with the hard disk failure message and that's it. I thought (bravely) that I would try his drive in my 486 to see if I could get it to boot up. Then depending on the result, try my drive (fully backed up) in his pc to see what happens. Do you think these multiple failures could be related, say a motherboard fault or whatever? It all seems very odd. Do you think I should try the hard drive swap around? He operates on a very tight budget. Guest (0)
