1259087 2012-02-14 08:09:00 I'm looking at replacing my Asus netbook with a laptop. Reason is that the netbook screen is too small for everyday use and the fact that it doesn't have a DVD drive.

All it will be used for is everyday use of the internet and posting onto a blog. Looking at spending no more than $650 for one.

Any suggestions or what I should avoid?

1259089 2012-02-14 09:53:00 Yeah right. This model specifies a pretty basic 2010 vintage AMD low wattage CPU with integrated graphics. Not really a fantastic bargain by the time you add on the GST. A good big battery which will help with the larger display consumption. Have a look on Price Spy, perhaps. PENTIUM (426)

1259091 2012-02-16 06:04:00 We've sold a few of these and they are actually a really nice laptop for the price.

It's a dual core pentium CPU with 4GB RAM so perfect for what you want to use it for.
They have the same model but with only 2GB RAM for about $15 less but I would go for the 4GB model.

Why would I want to do that? Can't take monitor into cafe.

$650 and Asus. That's kind of a big ask. 6310 will **** all over any of the low end intel stuff (GMA etc) you will get in most other laptops for that price anyway.

As long as you're not using IE any gfx card should do.

I don't use IE at all. Would performance be affected if using IE?
