Even the original ka mate was a joke. The mighty Te Rauparaha trembles in his jandals (ka mate = I die, I die), taking refuge behind the skirts of the local chief's wife, who then dispatches those giving Te R a bad time ("bugger off, you nasty 'orrible little men"). Te R is now overjoyed (ka ora = I live, I live). :p |

Dig a hole for the rubgy guys to climb into while they perform it..........Might as well do the acting too. Then they can run away. |

Im half expecting them to do it before every scrum and penalty. :groan: The overkill of all things Maori has become a complete embarrassment. I returned from Australia last Saturday and bugger me if as soon as we left the Air Bridge speakers hidden somewhere burst into a Waiata of some sort that nobody could understand. Had there been any Jews amongst us they would have been looking for the Wailing Wall. Some of the comments from the passengers are not publishable. Im afraid this focus on all things Maori is doing their cause more harm than good. :( |

Bit of licence on my part, pctek. :) I was having as dig as to how this mighty chief was saved, not by glorious deeds in battle, but by the fast thinking of a wahine. I think our mighty ABs while strutting their stuff should reflect on what really happened. :D |
