1259359 2012-02-20 21:03:00 Well I'm here. So, if it works now I can check it out now. Will it run on the desktop?? If it does run it then send the ID and pw it gives you to me in a PM. Shouldnt it be on a USB flash drive or something since its the portable version? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1259360 2012-02-20 21:43:00 The portable version is the same as the install version but it extracts all its dll file and exe files to a folder instead of actually installing. Its the same full version that Speedy has installed.

Curly should have gotten the Quick Support version as I pictured previously Post #10.

There is a difference between the Quick Support and portable. The Portable comes in a zipped file that has to have its contents extracted first, then the TeamViewer.exe is double clicked , you get a user ID etc. Size 130MB the Quick Support is a stand alone exe file 3.28MB

Bit long this -- 42 posts and maybe still not connected ;)

PS: The portable will run from the desktop as well.

1259361 2012-02-20 22:58:00 OK guys the ball is now in my court. I downloaded and got teamviewerQS Portable. It has not run or anything - yet. So will investigate.

Would changing to Windows 7 make any difference.

I agree, this has gone on for so long with no significant outcome, that we should call it quits at the end of this day. But notwithstanding that I
want to thank you both for your continued efforts to get a sucessfull outcome. Really appreciate it.

1259362 2012-02-20 23:07:00 Reformatting / reinstalling windows will probably fix it. Since (the prob youre having here), wont be there after a format Speedy Gonzales (78)
1259363 2012-02-21 00:42:00 Or you could just try repairing Windows Installer first... Agent_24 (57)
1259364 2012-02-21 00:54:00 Which is what the reg file should fix (with the reg entries anyway) Speedy Gonzales (78)
