1259339 2012-02-19 00:07:00 remote desktop might work if your PC supports it. But IMO its pretty crappy. And it's not as good as Teamviewer Speedy Gonzales (78)
1259340 2012-02-19 00:25:00 It would have to be something that did not require installing, as that obviously, is a major fault here. Blimey Charlie's :D ------- for the THIRD TIME, download the quick support version, it doesn't need installing. HERES a direct link to the download (downloadus1.teamviewer.com), save it to a USB drive directly, or use another computer and download, then transfer to the USB drive, plug into your computer, open the USB drive, double click Teamviewer, it will open and run -- give speedy the ID codes and password.

Normally I wouldn't suggest running it from a USB drive, but I have just tried it and it works fine.

1259341 2012-02-19 02:15:00 Sounds to me like your Windows Installer (the program that comes with Windows that handles MSI Files) is borked.
It's not a problem with any files you are installing, it's a problem with the installer itself.

If you want to try installing the latest Windows Installer get it here: www.microsoft.com

1259342 2012-02-19 02:24:00 This maybe the cause (support.microsoft.com). Or this (support.microsoft.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1259343 2012-02-19 02:26:00 Yeah but note he said he has Vista. Agent_24 (57)
1259344 2012-02-19 02:27:00 Probably the same reason and the same fix Speedy Gonzales (78)

I have tried three times now, but there is no option to "run" it, only to save it and there's the problem, once it is saved windows installer won't do anything with it, because windows install is broke.

I have tried on and off all day to find a solution, but none of them worked in the end, as they all wanted to save the file rather than run it. Saving it is of no use because windows installer won't do anything with it.

I have used your " HERES a direct link to the download", on each download, but each time it would only save the file.

1259346 2012-02-19 07:38:00 Did you try my links? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1259347 2012-02-19 08:06:00 Try this then (www.winhelponline.com) . If you can unzip it, right mouse then select merge. Then reboot

From here (www.winhelponline.com). Your system maybe infected with something (or was)

1259348 2012-02-19 20:28:00 This "might" be an answer. My browser is Firefox and from what I read, Firefox has only an install button to "run" a download. Of course in my situation installation it is out of the question as the windows installer service is broke.
Trolling the web, it looks like Internet Explorer has both a RUN button and an INSTALL button, is it possible that using IE and RUNING a download might circumvent the installation process as such. If that might work, then I should be able to
"install" teamviewer and take it from there. Of course it all depends on what "RUN" actually means or does, still maybe worth a try.

I have a good supply of old computer
CD's, so I should be able to find a copy of IE.

So... might it work ?

Oh and the msiserver file in zip format, I can't open. But they may be because I have little experience in zipped files. So, though I have tried, how should I go about it ?
