1259210 2012-02-15 07:46:00 Anyone know roughly how big the daily(?) updates are for MSE? I generally install Avast for the dialup brigade, as the updates are really small and only take a few mins, if that, on dialup. Renegade (16270)
1259211 2012-02-15 08:52:00 If you update daily they should be small, maybe about 250 kilobyte. If you leave it for a while it can get to over one megabyte. Bobh (5192)
1259212 2012-02-15 08:56:00 I've stopped recommending MSE lately, I just tell people to fork out for NOD32. For the small cost it is to keep your PC safe, it offers so much over MSE, and the resource usage is so much slimmer... Especially while gaming, or on an underpowered PC, it makes an insane difference!

EDIT: I should really become a reseller, the amount I've been referring people to it :p

1259213 2012-02-15 09:43:00 As others have said - NOD32 or MSE.

Or use Linux.

1259214 2012-02-15 20:11:00 Avira free for me, only because MSE has very few configurable options. autechre (266)

Or become a esset affiliate, to promote their product on your blog(s). I been thinking of it for some of mine.

hardly underpowered :)

Try WinXp with 256M RAM, or Vista with 500M , as being still used out there. Unfortunately.
Many companies will not upgrade untill the PC actually dies.
