2012-02-11 05:39:00 | Hi Team I thought I'd started a thread on this yesterday but can't find it, so here it is again as an update. I have somehow managed to reduce PF1 to a virtual monochrome display, all except for one blue square at the left of the header and some low saturation blue-grey colours on solid areas. All smilies have gone as well (fortunately I remember some of the keyboard version) and I wasn't even trying to do anything to PF1 at the time. It is a real 'plain vanilla' presentation! :( I was configuring Ad block on my laptop and referring to the setting on my desktop so I assume that this is in some way related to what I was doing at that time. It seems that I must have clicked on something (or accidentally dragged & dropped perhaps) without realising and I didn't find out until I opened PF1 some time later. Can anybody point me to the right place to look? I can't find anything. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2012-02-11 07:11:00 | Tried going into ad block and removing all references to pf1 ? Sorry I cant advise where they would be , I dont use ad block, only blocking that come with IE9 - the site is not to bad even with ads, its a hell of a lot better than it used to be and excellent compared to some others. BTW -- it loads almost instantly even with the ads, so no real speed difference. What browser are you using ? Are you sure it was ad block and not a setting in FF for example ?

I'm using ABP ... if you left click on the AB or ABP icon at the top of the page, it should open a pop-up with a box ticked "Enable for this Site" ... untick it, close FF, reopen and see if anything has changed. Alternately, go into your FF settings and disable AB or ABP altogether ... but again, I think you need to close and reopen FF before the settings take effect. Good luck ... you only have a tonight and tomorrow to get it sorted ... we don't want to miss out on our Monday morning laughs ! |

2012-02-11 08:55:00 | Well, I disabled Adblock and all the ads reappeared, but it didn't change my problem (see attached file) so something else is causing it. I'm going to try a reboot again, last time made no difference but it is worth a try! I've booted up the laptop and it is OK. No surprises there, but I had to check. How do I remove adblock completely so that I can start afresh? I can't see any option in the menus. Cheers Billy 8-{) Aaaarrrgghhh It blocked my attachment as well!! Reboot didn't help, but I see on my laptop that the attachment is OK?

2012-02-11 09:20:00 | Hmmmm........ Images don't display in 'Manage Attachments' either, so it seems that may only be images that are blocked. The attachment below is the screen with Adblock off. That's enough for me for the night, I'll sacrifice a chicken then sleep on it (the problem, not the chicken). PF1 is the only site affected, everything else is normal. That has to be a clue to something but I'm damned if I know what! Cheers Billy 8-{) :(

2012-02-11 09:42:00 | Looking at your first Picture, I "think" I replicated it. In FF, Tools, Options - Content Tab - Make sure " load images automatically" is ticked. Close FF, then reopen to take effect.

2012-02-12 02:51:00 | Thanks Wainui, but that wasn't it. You have helped clarify the issue though, and I now see that my problem is that PF1 is not loading images. Every other website is normal, so now I need to look for some setting or parameter specific to PF1 that is stopping just that website from loading iomages. Logically it must be in some parameter in FF or Ad Block (or something else) that can modify the display parameters of a specified web site. I have never looked beyongd the standard 'user settings' so heaven knows what I've managed to do, or how I did it! Cheers Billy 8-{)

2012-02-12 04:58:00 | Okay! I've fixed it. I decided that it must be something in FF that was doing it, there is nothing else that could be involved that I could think of, and I'd been through all of the options in FF Tools. I had also trawled through Tools/Options/Load Images Automatically (Man I didn't realise how many key words there were for porn, or how many sites were in that list!) but Press F1 did not appear. I had tried entering PF1 as an exception in that file too, just in case, but that did not help either. In the end I took a deep breath and did a global deletion of all the sites in the list (presumably supplied by FF, unless a security filter provided them over time), rebooted and there she was! Press F1 in all her radiant beauty. I think I shall do a 'Monday Laughs Special' to celebrate! Cheers Billy 8-{)

2012-02-12 06:32:00 | Don't know where the sites listed would have come from. My list of 'exceptions' is empty. May pay to keep a watch on whether any new sites are addded to your list, and try to establish what program is putting them there. I'm looking forward to Monday!
