1469662 2020-06-18 06:41:00 Requirements:

Not expensive, so obviously will have to buy off Trademe or such.
Minimal built in apps - or at least be able to remove them, none of this can't remove the things...
Must work on Spark network
Would be nice if it was tough as well

And that's all I care about really.

1469663 2020-06-18 20:48:00 Yo piroska, I have a Sony M2 (D2303) you can have for the cost of picking it up in Greenmeadows. Nothing wrong with it apart from age. But then, that applies to a lot of us as well. Was SWMBO's but replaced it a while ago as her banking app wouldn't work on it.

Pm me if you are interested :)

1469665 2020-06-18 21:05:00 Never tried to remove anything. If you want to try it, it comes with a money back guarantee :)

1469669 2020-06-19 06:59:00 Okay, I bought SWMBO a Samsung Y5 @ $199 from the Rotorua Spark shop. She seems happy with it.

Ken :)

1469670 2020-06-19 08:32:00 What price range are you looking at? How urgent do you need it? What phone provider will you use (this is to find one with best network support).

You will want a phone that is pretty much stock android or can be rooted so you can install lineage os.

Stock android will have google apps you can not remove, using lineage os however you will have full control over having minimal apps necessary.

So you may want to check out phones that lineage os support or has tutorials on installing it to particular phones.

If it is not urgent, Aliexpress can be a good place to find higher end phones at a lower price than what you would pay here. ZTE seems to have the best network support for all NZ providers. Nokia phones seem to be stock android, has ok network support and seem to be priced low. Also Asus is not too bad in their zenfone range. Phones like Xiaomi, Meizu, etc can be good spec wise but network compatibility can be troublesome in which you may require rooting and enabling other frequencies.

Not sure if you would go this route, it is more a hobby for me.
