2020-06-16 09:12:00 | Anyone here still using home landline? I am. Considering very seriously to discontinue the landline as it's of not much use, these days.

2020-06-16 09:36:00 | I would get rid of the darn thing except SWMBO has a habit of talking on it for exorbitant lengths of time and a mobile plan would cost far more than the land-line does. She uses up our minutes on our mobiles just before roll-over date for national calls. Grrrr... Ken :) :(

2020-06-16 10:25:00 | Still technically have one, but it was ported away from an actual landline to voip. Much better rates for overseas calls. Especially for those overseas that don’t use Viber/WhatsApp | psycik (12851) | |
2020-06-16 19:24:00 | I only use a cell phone for emergencies away from home and it's prepaid. I have no need for a Smart phone as I have my PC and cannot afford a monthly plan for something I would never use anyway. I have a landline which in my advancing years find perfect for SWMBO's and my needs. | Bryan (147) | |
2020-06-16 19:49:00 | We ditched the Land Line a couple of years ago and have never missed it. No more spam calls either. The mobile system means that you pretty much only get calls that are for you and you do not have to be at home to get them. SMBO has had quite a few medical related calls and she does not have to hang around home to get them so I do not think I could get her mobile phone off her if I wanted to. | CliveM (6007) | |
2020-06-16 22:02:00 | Still use ours for Business and NZ wide calls, why pay extra $$$ for using a mobile. One person once told me after switching off his land line his "friends" calls dropped drastically, as they have to pay to call his mobile. Funny that

My mum has one. I used to for the above reason. BUt now I have unlimited minutes on my plan. Try 2 Degrees or Skinny....but even Vodafone and Spark have cheap unlimited minutes plans now, all I did was add the minutes part to my existing plan, not select the top plan...cause I didn't care about data.... Costs me $25 a month now....most of that is the unlimited minutes.... Now what limits calls, is the battery...LOL. |

2020-06-16 22:20:00 | Only have one because we can't get fibre in our street so can't have a naked broadband deal costing less than the current deal which includes landline. We use our mobiles to make calls since we have so many carryover minutes on a basic monthly plan.
