It seems to be more in line with the NZ Herald right wing bulldust than it used to be. Maybe they are all aligning themselves with the Murdoch world view before the next takeover. | John H (8) | ||

Owners of the Press (newspapers & other media) do control whats published , and the slant it has. Newspapers in general are fast becoming unprofitable. Cant see how a merger is going to change that. Reporting now seems to be either sensationalizing stories to get more ~looks~ or parroting official statements. |

When the Government of the day can get stories stopped or changed to suit the official line it is not even close to free press. They deserve to fail. |

| 1468665 | 2020-05-11 06:07:00 | Yes, it is possible to read "some" of the news on Granny Herald - for more indepth news, you have to subscribe - ie pay $$$ At the moment, it is possible to read all the articles on Stuff without having to part with your hard earned $$$$$$ Do you honestly think it will remain that way if NZME get their sticky fingers into the trough? :( :( :( |
