1464352 2019-10-05 07:27:00 Restarted running SETI@home 1 month ago after finding my account was still active after several years.
Downloaded BOINK manager and suddenly my HP Laptop started restarting itself several times a day. No indication of any problem. Googled the problem and got scared by the results, so disabled Boink after some thought and since disabling it 1 week ago no more problem.
Unable to find mention of the fault anywhere so hoping the experts on here may be able to shed some light on the problem as I would like to continue running SETI.

1464353 2019-10-05 07:41:00 might just be heat, BOINK can push your PC hard if you let it. You can log into your account and set limits to drop the load
I let it have 10 % of my CPU for a few months then stopped using it.

1464354 2019-10-05 21:37:00 Thanks Dugi, What you say makes a lot of sense so I have restarted BOINK with 20% and so far no problem.
Here's hoping. If worst comes to worst I can always stop it completely.

1464355 2019-10-06 20:00:00 I wouldnt recommend this sort of thing on a laptop, unless you dont care about the laptop. If you really must, spend $150 on a cheap i5 PC & use that instead . 1101 (13337)
