1464286 2019-10-04 08:38:00 I need to replace my old HP 7610 printer.

1. It has to be able to print black/while ( don't need colour) , scanning and preferably photo copying.

2. Very low usage.

3. Economical to run ( present 7610 costs too much run)

Any brand will do.

What do you use to replace a scanner? Take a snapshot with your smart phone? The end result quality is never the same!

Using the scanner, I can save a document as PDF, JPG,

1464290 2019-10-04 19:36:00 This is what you should check when searching for a printer:

Not a bad price actually, but they only do a 1000 pages. My inkjet does more than that - and it's $12 a cartridge.

So, hmm, maybe it is bad.

You want the most pages per toner, without the toner costing a small fortune.
It is possible, but not with cheapie printers.

It looks ok to me. Mine is a similar Brother B&W Laser used rarely but always works when required. It does what I need mostly but should I want colour or a larger size print I just put the file on a USB stick and take it to Warehouse Stationery and print it out it there. Incidentaly the scanner function comes in very handy at times as it lets you send things via an email attachment which would have been Faxed in the olden days a few years back.

Any comments? Defiantly a Laser.

Point #2 ----- 2. Very low usage.

Toners don't dry up and evaporate away to nothing. Seen many peoples printers they put in a new ink cartridge, do a couple of prints and come back to print a few months later - inks all gone.

The worst a toner is going to do is settle, then all you do is remove the cartridge give it a shake and away you go again.

BUT look around, that price at PBTech is rather on the higher side. Example pricespy.co.nz

What you can also do is look for Brother cashback offers, they sometimes really pay off. My Colour laser cost about $50 when combined with a sale and cashback. :)

What sort of documents are you wanting to save?

It is only on very rare occasions that I need to scan and save a document. I have a separate flat bed scanner for that purpose. I doubt if it gets used more than once a year :)

1464295 2019-10-05 01:19:00 We scan all the cash register receipts for items that we buy for warranty purposes. The original receipts fade so that you may have an issue if you need proof of purchase when something fails. b.... (7683)
