Sold most of my record collection in one hit (hundreds) , sold the turntable. 20 years later I bought an old turntable for the few records I kept . Just to play the 1 or 2 that arnt available on CD/mp3/streaming . :) phone cameras , yeah, well, um .... |

| 1469711 | 2020-06-24 23:28:00 | I traded all my records in and slowly replaced most of them with CDs. The few I couldn't replace I recorded to .WAV files on the PC and burnt to CD. It was the early days of CD burners and I was pretty pleased with myself. Came out really well, but it's weird to listen to them now when you hear the thump of the needle hitting the record then the crackle of the lead in track. Many years later when downloading music became fairly easy I replaced some of those recordings too. I do like how easy it is to find some music online these days, back when I was collecting CDs a lot of albums I wanted I had to import at over $40 each (in the 90s ) and others I was never able to get. It's partly why I have kept my collection, so much time and money went into it that I can't bring myself to part with them. They are in a box in the spare room though, ripped them all to lossless files on the PC years ago. |
