1469580 2020-06-16 22:55:00 I haven't had one in many years and have not missed it at all. When my Mum was still alive she refused to ring a mobile phone but after she died I realised one day I never used the pone except to receive calls most of which were some kind of sales spam so I got rid of it. dugimodo (138)
1469581 2020-06-17 07:09:00 We don't have one and have not for at least 8 years, we are both on the $19 prepay from 2D. We both have minutes and data left over each month and it accumulates. I currently have 2000 minutes and 10Gb on my phone, when we moved all that extra data was useful and we nearly used it up and have started accumulating again to current levels. gary67 (56)

I was using the Skinny $16 plan with which I accumulated heaps of minutes and data but since I retired from the school driving a year ago, SWMBO and I have dropped to the $9 plan with 100 minutes and 250MB each still cheaper to have a landline as part of my Spark fibre "Unplan" plan. Only $10 if I remember correctly. So, a saving of $4 between us

1469583 2020-06-18 23:50:00 kenj, Does "retired old codger" mean you are over 65?) Have you checked out Spark Gold Plans for over 65s. I gave up my landline and have the mobile Basic Gold Plan for $12.99 mth which has unlimited calls to Spark mobiles and landlines and 50min to NZ mobile on other networks. www.spark.co.nz
There is rollover for data and voice calls

1469584 2020-06-19 00:49:00 Feb 2011 onwards, best appliance in the home as son in Ohakea was able to see how we were coping. We thought the quakes had stuffed up the dial-up system, like the power supply.

Notice BOP are having a few 5.1 oners' at the moment.
