A drive charges it up. it actually doesn't charge the battery up 100% and if they sit undercharged for a long time they tend to degrade. always a good thing to charge it fully with a battery charger. you can notice how much easier it is to start after its been charged up. |

I agree I have 7 step smart charger 5A which is needed with calcium lead acid batteries I plug this on the bus as its sitting in the winter after I have given the bus an engine run. |

And if it starts to go flat quickly, often, it's new battery time. new batteries are fine if you drive once a week....my mum doesn't go out that much, only over lockdown she had that one issue. There is a constant 35mA drain from the battery in my car when the car is parked and the key out of the ignition switch, so I run a trickle charger on it all the time. |

The one she has now is less than a year old. depends on what length trips you do. most people never drive long enough for a full charge to happen ie hours of driving not minutes. |
