| 1464507 | 2019-10-21 07:25:00 | With sumer approaching I have decided to add a 4th cooling fan to my gaming system. Currently running three PWM 120mm fans from headers on mobo. I'm upgrading the graphics card so would like to add a 140mm top exhaust My mobo only has 3 headers, but the graphics card has 2 more. Question: If I connect 1 or more of them to the graphics card will they get along happily ?? That should be fine, the fan speed will be controlled by the GPU's sensor so will only likely ramp up when you are gaming and the GPU is heating up. What is the make and model of the GPU you're upgrading to? You should be able to use something like MSI Afterburner or EVGA's Precision X1 tool to setup the fan curve accordingly. Cheers, |

| 1464508 | 2019-10-22 01:05:00 | This has worked out ok & the system runs very quiet. There was no issue with temperatures, this was only about noise. I finished up with a 140mm lower front intake & 120mm rear exhaust connected to mobo. This should maintain a positive internal pressure. The other 120mm upper front & 120mm top rear exhaust are connected to GPU. The GPU has it's own software to control the fans. On the default setting they dont come on until the GPU reaches 60 degrees. |
