1469151 2020-05-31 05:07:00 I’m having a tidy up and found a box of coins dating back years. Some pre 1900.

I’ve got most sussed but can’t work out what this one is, where it’s from and what value.

Anyone throw any light on it?

1469152 2020-05-31 06:46:00 The obverse suggests an Arabic / Middle East origin, and the person is wearing a Fez. The Fez suggests Egypt, Libya, North Africa origins (I think the Fez was outlawed in other parts of the Middle East). Not much, but it may help. As for the reverse, it suggests something that may have fallen out of ET's pocket when he/she/it was searching for a call box to call home. :D WalOne (4202)
1469153 2020-05-31 09:28:00 Well, it's worth 5 something's (dinars/dirhams/?????) and it's from 1935 (1354 in the Islamic calendar), but as for the rest, my few years spent in the Middle East during my teenage years didn't get me very far with the alphabet, sorry MushHead (10626)
1469154 2020-05-31 10:04:00 Thanks Guys,

King Farouk was my first guess, but I can’t find anything to back that guess. :illogical

The good news is I found a couple of Sovereigns/Half Sovereigns to ease the pain. ;)

Google helps. Type in the coin description and quite a few sites come up, you can select search images...
I have some...inc some Chinese and such. Sadly none of them are worth beans...

1469156 2020-05-31 22:40:00 Does seem like a King Farouk coin from when he was an older man:

1469157 2020-06-01 00:30:00 Fear not, I extensively googled the problem prior to posting, but drew a blank.

I think we can safely say that the Head Side of the coin depicts King Farouk.

However, I can not find a picture of the Tail/Flip side anywhere.

Another thing that comes into play is the diameter of the coin is 21mm which doesn’t match any of the coin sizes I’ve found.

MushHead: Can you advise where you found the value of the coin and date? There is scribble on both sides which means nothing to me.

Thanks.
