I cloned a disc drive on an external drive and reformatted the external drive to delete the cloned contents but the names of the cloned files still remain. They can not be deleted so how do I get rid of them? |

What did you use to re-format the HDD? Have you tried to delete the files from within the OS? If it is WIN10, have you tried the disk cleanup function and select delete the system files update? |

The problem was solved by managing the partitions on the external drive following the excellent instructions from How to Geek. Thanks for the advice anyway. |
