2904 1999-09-08 11:24:00 I seem to be getting an increased number of winows protection faults - blue screen of death - since installing a second hard drive in my system.

The most recent say after the usual blurb:

'....in 0028:C0285305 in VXD VWIN32 (05) +00002059..'
and
' ....FFFF:FFFFFFFF..'
and
'...0028:C000B25A in VXD VMM(01) + 0000A25A..'
I have also had crashes within the explorer window in user.exe and kernel32.

The crashes generally always occur after playing a game. It seems to happen with most games (Age of Empires, X-Files etc) When the game is closed, the blue screen appears-alternatively the explorer window comes up showing the crash details.

I installed the new Seagate HD by using the disc manager programme so I figure I have simply copied all the junk off the old drive onto the new drive which probably doesn't help things. However, I wasn't getting these protection errors before when I just had the old drive.

I figure I am going to have to wipe the new disc and start again but am reluctant to do so until I have finished some overdue work that I have on the computer.

Are there any areas which I could check in the interim which may be the solution to the problems?

I have tried:
-Device manager- this shows no problems
-Latest drivers are installed
-I have reinstalled windows(over the top)
-Used the ext.exe tool on the start-up disc to refresh the system files

System is a Pentium 133, 48MB RAM, Win98, 4.3GB H/D and 1.2GB H/D.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
