| 3005 | 1999-09-23 09:59:00 | Juha I read your article in the Sept 99 issue with interest, and promptly made the changes you suggested. I immediately had problems. My internet connection stayed at around the 44,000 bps level - but the actual bytes received per sec was only about 150, and I constantly timed out from my ISP's mail server without receiving any mail. So, I reversed all your advice - and voila - speeds back to around 5 or 6000 bps. Any idea what the problem might have been? I have a 56k modem, run win 98, and connect to Wave. |
