| 2979 | 1999-09-21 00:14:00 | Background: About 18 months ago I bought a 266 Pentium II computer with 64mb RAM, 4 GB hard drive, HP 1120c Printer and HP5100C Scanner. I had problems with the scanner and it was eventually replaced (free of charge) with a HP 5200C which supports a USB connection. My computer was originally installed with Windows95. When the new scanner was connected it would not run so I had my supplier look at the problem. They found that Windows95 would not support the USB connection, to the scanner and drivers, and recommended an upgrade to Windows98 ? which I did. The scanner now works fine. Problem: Ever since then I have had problems on Shutdown. After instructing the computer to Shutdown I often get a blue screen and one of the messages: Fatal OE has occurred at 0028:C00063A5 in VXD VMM(01) + 000053A5 And after Norton Anti Virus 5 was installed: Fatal OE has occurred at 015F:00000686 on restart got Fatal OE at 017F:BFF8CC04 And after Windows Updates were downloaded: Fatal OE has occurred at: 0147:00000686 And after DirectX was downloaded: Fatal OE has occurred at: 0028:C00063A5 etc. And just recently I got: Fatal OE has occurred at: 0167:BFF8CC04 Hope you can help solve this. I am not very technical but I do subscribe to and enjoy your magazine. Regards, Murray McIver. |
