| 3134 | 1999-10-10 20:43:00 | I am attempting to put a larger hard disk (used) into an oldish computer. After I have formatted the disk and loaded DOS 6.21 the machine reboots and gets as far as the line 'Verifying DMI Pool Data' and stops. I can boot from floppy by changing the BIOS to boot from A drive first but it will not boot from a floppy in A if the boot sequence is C,A. All the DOS files appear to be on the C drive. I have tried other disks which boot OK in other machines. I think it gets to the Boot sector because I have a disk with BootMagic on it which fires up OK but stops soon after I chose Win95 or Linux. The computer BIOS is Award 4.51PG. I have tried everything I can think of. Can you help me ? Regards Alastair Mansell |
