3307 1999-10-31 04:48:00 Hi,
I use a HP Pavilion with NOrton Utilities 3.0. Its a Pentium 166, with 32MB Ram, and a 3.8 GB drive. All has been happy going so far, till my NU Defragmenter and Disk Doctor, have developed problems, working with my disk. The message keeps popping up, that there is some other program writing to disk, and that I need to shut that down before they work. After a bit of hunting around, with a free utility from Symantec,(which seeks out programs writing to disk)this is what I found,

[07:08:32] FILE CREATE : C:\hptemp.@@@, APP: TWEAKICO.EXE,
[07:08:32] FILE WRITE : C:\hptemp.@@@, APP: TWEAKICO.EXE,
[07:08:32] RENAME : C:\hptemp.@@@, APP: TWEAKICO.EXE,
[07:08:32] FILE DELETE : C:\RECYCLED\NPROTECT\00012439.@@@, APP: NPROTECT.EXE,
[07:08:32] FAT WRITE: Drive c:
[07:08:32] ROOT DIR WRITE: Drive c:
[07:08:32] ROOT DIR WRITE: Drive c:
[07:08:32] FAT WRITE: Drive c:
[07:08:32] ROOT DIR WRITE: Drive c:
[07:08:32] ROOT DIR WRITE: Drive c:

I keep getting this message over and over again. I dont seem to have a problem when I uninstall NU, but the moment I re-install, my disk's red light keeps flickering at regular intervals. Is there any way out of this?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
