| 3392 | 1999-11-11 21:36:00 | I have a question about improving 3D game graphics. I have a machine with a Winchip 233 with 3D Now and MMX; 48MB RAM; 4.3GB H/D, Win 98, a Voodoo (4MB)card and an S3 Virge (2MB) 2d/3d card. Game play and frame rates have increased dramatically since I changed my old Pentium for the Winchip but I am wondering now how much of a system slowdown I am getting on 3D games with the old S3 card. That is, would the S3 card with only 2MB of video RAM be slowing down the flow into the Voodoo card? What sort of changes would I see if I changed the S3 card for a similar card of 4MB video RAM? (I don't want to spend a lot of money on another replacement card). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Darryl Lennane |
