| 3390 | 1999-11-11 12:26:00 | I have been trying to get my Com 2 to work. I will start at the beginning. My modem was on Com2 before a format that went wrong. My Bios got screwed and had to be reset. Then when I went to install the modem it couldn't/wouldn't detect it so I set it up on Com4. I now need Com2 to download/upload external dataloggers. My Bios is showing Com 1,2 &4 at startup and I have Com 2 setup in windows but when I try to access Com2 from the datalogger software I get 'no connection' and com3 (that is not installed) shows 'not configured'. I have deleted Com2 and reinstalled and removed modem and tried with the same result. I know com2 & 4 conflict but this should only happen if the modem is in use while using com2 which is something I wouldn't do. I have shifted the mouse from com1 to 2 and it was not found. The only thing I can think has happened is a wrong Bios setting ( since the reset) but I can't find anything out of place or Com2 has died. Any help appreciated CJ |
