| 3374 | 1999-11-10 02:00:00 | I have recently upgraded to Office 97 SR2 on both my Pentium 100 & Pentium 133 clones. Both machines have 32Mb RAM and identical hard drives and are networked. Loading an identical Word document from their local hard drives from explorer takes 15 secs on the P100 and 45 secs on the P133. Excel is not affected. Why does it take so long on the P133? I did not have this problem with Office 95. The P100 has Word & Excel loaded and is attached to a local printer and my network. The P133 has Word, Excel and Outlook loaded for its Calendar feature only and is connected to a local printer, scanner, modem and my network. I use Windows 95C, IE5, Outlook Express 5 and installed Office 97 after reformatting my hard drives over Labour weekend. I only run one application at a time. |
