1236376 2011-10-08 08:20:00 not possible, and its not just nz homes its every home in the world, a phone line is only able to have one *dsl connection coming down it. nedkelly (9059)

1236378 2011-10-09 04:22:00 No, for much the same reason you can't use two dialup connections simultaneously on the same line either. Agent_24 (57)

Often there is already another line in, just not connected.

That's what I had thought- I want more speed and am willing to pay for it. Usually average around 1.6MB/sec. I would have assumed they'd just have to plug it up at the exchange.

I'll ring around and see what they say- may have to look at a different solution or to global gateway. Expensive, yes, but worth it in my case.

1236381 2011-10-09 19:10:00 It sounds to me like you're hoping to use two ADSL connections as effectively a single connection (based on saying you want more speed), which would suggest you're going to need teamed ADSL connections, and I don't believe any NZ ISP supports ADSL teaming (though I'd love to hear if any do). You could load-balance the connections yourself, and thus have 2x 1.6MB/sec connections, but not 1x 3.2MB/sec.

First thing I'd so is see if VDSL2 is available in your area. Given you get 1.6MB/sec (about 13mbps) on ADSL2, you may be able to achieve nearly double that on VDSL2.
