1236757 2011-10-11 12:00:00 This seems like a big drama over a package. Firstly you think everything is too far away car or no car. Get them to redeliver your parcel and tell them to buzz/ring so they can get into your so called compound.
or get them to deliver to a friends house or something.

1236758 2011-10-11 12:26:00 Yeah the rules which apply for courierpost don't apply for normal post.

I bought some transistors from eBay, was sent registered post and the postie had to obtain a signature. Apparently they don't even wait for you to answer the door either - only found a card saying I had to pick it up or it would be sent back to Singapore or whatever.

Luckily the depot wasn't too far away, though, but it was a pain.

I'm with Billy T: If you've got a bike (or can borrow one) it won't be a huge deal, unless you can't ride one. Personally I would want to know what the thing is!

1236759 2011-10-11 12:35:00 Pity it wasn't sent with NZ Couriers, I had a laptop arrive today they just dropped it (literally by the look of the box) early in the morning and left it there, didn't even bother to knock to get a signature yet it was a signature required parcel.

Bottom line, don't use them.

1236760 2011-10-11 12:51:00 They should re-deliver - call them. Go to their website and you will find the delivery routes/times so you know what time the courier will come.

PostHaste are the worst - they do not knock on the door, or come at the same time - they appear to come randomly at different times of the day to make deliveries. Very annoying. Several times they have left a card to call - ring them and they say we can redeliver in 2-3 days... wtf? I paid for an overnight delivery!

Whereas courier post comes at the same time down my street each day, always knocks and if I do sleep through the knock at the door it's either on the door step or the card tells me when he/she will be back to deliver.

1236762 2011-10-11 19:47:00 Is this the parcel you have when you don't have a parcel?

I've had the same things with fast(slow)ways. one time the front door signed for a rather expensive and fragile package, and another time the dog signed for a laptop. I wasn't very happy, especially when I work practically across the road from where they leave undelivered packages.

1236765 2011-10-11 21:31:00 Interesting we get at least 3-4 couriers a week at home from different companies which are nearly always delivered properly. We get the odd hiccup now and again but it's rare gary67 (56)
