| 1236100 | 2011-11-01 17:34:00 | Yes where are the Skyhawks ? I think that the containers are more of a worry than the 300 tons of oil that is left. That idiot from Maritime NZ Mr Anderson on tv last night, seems to think its a picnic, he has no sense of urgency at all. |

I saw in one interview where one of the many MNZ Bosses claimed they were taking a measured approach, which apparently means sitting on your hands when youre not wringing them. Also, I find it interesting that all these people have done interviews: MNZ chief Catherine Taylor MNZ Salvage Unit Head Andrew Berry Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) salvage head Bruce Anderson Maritime New Zealand salvage unit manager Kenny Crawford. National On-Scene Commander Nick Quinn National On Scene Commander Ian Niblock National On-Scene Commander Alex van Wijngaarden National On Scene Commander Rob Service Salvage master Drew Shannon Svitzer spokesman Matthew Watson NIWA principal scientist Mike Revell Maybe they would like to explain why there are three Salvage Unit Heads and Four On Scene Commanders? Is this a Job for the Boys? ;) Regardless, four weeks have now passed and progress has been pathetic. :groan: |

| 1236104 | 2011-11-01 20:00:00 | BM you are turning into a pain in the arse with your know-all attitude. If you are so good why don't you volunteer your services then we could send Svitzer and all the others home. Stick to playing boats with yourself in the bath. | Richard (739) | ||

The "Procrastinators and Hand Wringers League" on here seem to have as many members as the MNZ have Chiefs. Anyway, I had to laugh at the news this morning when one of the hierarchy (I missed which one) said that whilst he was happy with progress this sort of thing happened all the time around the world and he felt there must be a better way to remove the oil. However, that would all be part of the De-Brief. What a sad joke. :( |

And when they ask them a question tv, you get some stupid reply like "The ship is on a reef and the back half may break off" And Trev "Yes I have forwarded some of my suggestions to Simon Bridges' press secretary, and she passes them on. And I have emailed Simon Power. (But I do take my hat off to the guys who are actually working on the Rena) |

I wonder just how many On Scene Commanders we've had waiting in the wings for this event? What a farce. |
