1236191 2011-10-07 23:31:00 I suppose a memory card / reader would be faster. Depending on what gets saved on the card. Do whatever then remove the card / put it in the reader thats it. Actually thats one thing I'll have to get (a reader). The printer has a card reader, but if I want to write to one, there's a read/write attribute option in its menu. And (it looks like you) have to change it (every single time) you want to write to a memory card. If you dont it'll say its write protected. When it isnt. Speedy Gonzales (78)
1236192 2011-10-08 07:30:00 I did the same "upgrade" a while ago. The W531 was a lovely phone to use.
While the S5511T is basically the same phone, they have managed to make EVERY function harder to use!
The shiny casing attracts dirt, the clamshell is no longer openable one-handed, the options and menu's are less intuitive, the PC interface is crippled, and you are restricted to the supplied headphones with their proprietary plug.
Rather than being an evolutionary step forward, it is the retarded southern cousin.

Hallelujah! You is tellin' it like is is mah man! If that ain't th' gol-darn truth then Nixon weren't no lying scumbag, JFK were shot by the Pope while posin' as a no-good drifter, double yuh double yuh 2 were just a Hollywood movie set, an' Osama Bin Scumbag were a seriously misunderstood angel of peace.

How an excellent and simple to understand and use phone could be reincarnated as the spawn of the devil I just can't understand. All that was so inuitive is now shrouded in mystery, the "manual" stops in mid-instruction and the delightful simplicity has been worked over by the people who write taxation manuals.

No doubt I will get passingly familiar with it in time, but why, Samsung, why???

I differ ononly one point, it is possible to open it one handed, provided you have an extensible fingernail, but you are likely to find that you have also opened the camera in the attempt.

1236194 2011-10-09 02:56:00 Great little phone, have one in my hand right now.

Should have come with 2 mini cd's and a cord with a usb one end and mini usb other end?

Instal the software from the cd's, follow the prompts and you are in business.

Once installed, open the samsung program, don't have the laptop in front of me to tell u the exact steps but it is fairly painless to transfer pictures off plus your address book etc and ad music for your ringtones etc to the phone.

1236195 2011-10-09 03:02:00 If all else fails, pm me, am in the middle of the outback of NT at the moment but will have access to my laptop on Monday, can probably screen shot the steps to you by email. PinoyKiw (9675)
1236196 2011-10-10 05:11:00 Right...

I have found two Samsung mini CD's (1/2 and 2/2) which have phone programs, data and manuals on them. The manual is a bit of a mystery, it has 169 pages and various features are highlighted in blue and look like links, but they aren't and they are actually on the page number they are referring to, but so far as I can see at this stage. Time to do some exploring and info-mining I think.

Cheers
