| 1236176 | 2011-10-07 22:46:00 | Really? If I steal your car, you no longer have a car. If I copy your car, you haven't lost anything. Almost, although since you don't want to sell the car you wouldn't care how many people copy it, would you? In the commercial situation, copying something = A lost sale (But even then, ONLY POTENTIALLY!! - because there is absolutely no guarantee the person would have purchased the thing if they didn't copy it) They also don't take into account that some people download AND buy the content. |

Not saying it's not wrong... I'd agree with that. I don't agree with piracy but it is the same people who will continue to pirate regardless of laws and DRM. Thats why DRM is total BS. All it does is piss off legit users. Haters gonna hate. Pirates gonna pirate. |

| 1236178 | 2011-10-09 01:26:00 | . Haters gonna hate. Pirates gonna pirate. And burglars are going to burgle... Theft is unlawful. But people do it anyway. So is sexual assault. But people do it anyway. And sexual assault is just like copying - nothing is stolen, where's the problem? Do we expunge all our criminal laws - because they get broken anyway? |

| 1236179 | 2011-10-09 02:31:00 | Laws are usually written so that people know what is acceptable behaviour or what is not acceptable behaviour. There will always be people who break whatever law is written. These people will be penalised when caught and convicted. Copy write laws are put in place to protect the creators of software, music, movies, designs, etc. This ensures that the creator gets a return for the effort and expense used in the making of his creation. He is entitled to a return on his investment. |
