| 1236206 | 2011-10-07 14:52:00 | We have a cat . It SHOULD be called "Shredder" or "Slash" since it cannot be picked up, petted or touched by a human in any way . We also have to take this same cat with us when/if we move over 800 miles away . Are there any cat pills that will zonk the animal and keep it calm, if not actually comatose all the whole trip? We took her for a short ride . Don't ask how we got her into the Kat-Karrier - as that's a scene from Dante's Inferno in and of itself . The whole time this vile Satan's beast howled and screamed at the top of it's hellish lungs until she got allowed out of the travel cage and bolted back into the house . I'm not sure we'll ever get her back into that cage again after this bad experience --- for both her and us . I though maybe a tranquilizer dart at 50 yards might work ---- I figger that a 50CAL might be effective . We can't find her at the moment, and I hope that she decides that human-cat interrelations are necessary for her very subsistence (read: existence) for food and water . Things I've found out so far about cats: Cats can really scream . Cats don't like cars, vans or 4WD trucks Cats don't like humans who trick them into cages or travel boxes, no matter how many cute pictures of happy kitties are painted on the outside Cats can really REALLY scream . Human ears don't like cat-screams, and especially at that particular frequency . We are the proud owners of Satan's lap-cat . Cats can REALLY scream! |

Regularly open the book at different pages. Use the book as a threat of felineicide. If these measures fail and your cat doesn't get the message, then you'll still have 101 ideas to bring about an early demise. :devil |

As for carrying the cat in the car - it'll be more distressing to the humans than the cat. Cover its cage so that it's in darkness, and make sure if it pees that the foul stuff can't run onto anything prescious. My dad once moved a cat with similar temperament by trapping it under an upturned wheelbarrow on the trailer. It was lucky it didn't get drop-kicked to hell, as the attempt to carry it loose in the car resulted in it freaking out and peeing down his neck. Seriously. It went berserk, and I'm guessing it chose to sit on his head as that was the highest point away from the road that was whizzing past. |

| 1236211 | 2011-10-07 19:41:00 | When we moved from the south island back to taranaki we gave our cats some pills to keep them sleepy. It doesnt zonk them but calms them down. They wernt spawn from satan though. They actually got out of the boxes using their claws but they were very smoochy and was difficult to drive with 3 cats all trying to get on your lap....... | Gobe1 (6290) | ||
| 1236212 | 2011-10-07 20:07:00 | Hi Joe, Yes there are pills you can get from a vet or maybe even Petsmart over there. You could put it in her food to disguise it or wrap it up in a piece of cheese. I know that you can also get what they call pill pockets, they are nom nom cat treats that you can put the pill inside and seal it up. Get some "Feliway" feline calmer and spray it on and inside your kitty karrier and on her favorite bedding, but not on the cat herself. Wear protective gauntlets and full face mask when you pick her up lol! Good luck. LL |

| 1236213 | 2011-10-07 20:19:00 | I've known people who give a cat 1/4 of a valium tablet which worked. Putting a blanket or something over the cage helps too. I'm fortunate: my own cat enjoys vehicles and will hop in for a ride. Best of luck Joe. Calm and quiet is the way to handle a cat. |

Looking for advice on the size of board I should use. Preferably longer than normal I should think. |
