| 3464 | 1999-11-24 01:56:00 | My brother in law's Compaq model 4503 computer is bringing up the message: 'Himem.sys file is missing. Check that it is in your windows directory.' The message only comes up when the computer is restarted - say after a software installation or other resart. It won't come up if the computer is started up normally. Windows 98 was recently clean installed on this computer. The machine specs are: Win 98, Pentium 166MMX; 48Mb RAM, 2.1GB H/D. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Darryl Lennane |
