3477	1999-11-25 10:38:00	Creative Labs CD R R/W I bought a Creative Labs CD writer in may and have had good results form it until recently when it started to function in an erratic manner. I took it back to the retailer and got a replacement unit from the supplier. (?Its not worth repairing them? -- now that?s an interesting thought) Anyway the replacement unit has similar problems Basically it will read any commercial CD (audio or data) and a CD RW with no problem. Any CD-R formatted or not caused it to operate EXTREMELY slowly or not at all. In the latter case it freezes the system and I have to Crtl Alt Del to get control back. The CD uses the Adaptec software and I am running windows 98 (second edition) I have done a clean install of both to try to rectify the problem ? but to no avail Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution?
