While running Win95, that stupid log-in screen suddenly appeared one day and I could find no way of getting rid of it. It told me that if I didn't enter a password, the screen would not appear again. So I followed its advice, but upon rebooting, there it was. I even went as far as deleting the *.pwl file in the Windows directory. No joy. Faced with the prospect of reloading Win95 again, I opted to upgrade to Win98. Everything has been going well for three weeks now, until last night when I booted up and, you guessed it! - that damn log-in screen has come back to haunt me and I can't get rid of it! |
