| 3587 | 1999-12-09 22:28:00 | Hi Problem Solvers, My set-up is as follows: Windows 95 (OEM), CD-ROM (Soundblaster) etc. The first problem I noticed while using MS Publisher98, was that the light on the CD-ROM Drive kept flashing. I could not stop this nor access the drive. By right clicking on the icon/eject the tray opened up all right with the disk still spinning to my dismay. Because after rebooting my CD-ROM Drive was not found, it turned out that my CD-ROM drive letter was changed from E:\ to D:\, how, I shall never know!! I changed this back to E:\ by right clicking 'My Computer' then Properties\Device Manager\ CD-ROM\ Creative CD2422E MC102\Properties\ Settings\StartDriver Letter and changing the letter back to E:\. The target letter is the same but the programme objects tot this!! I have no idea what it is supposed to be. On rebooting I am informed: 'Device driver not found (MSCD1001)'. Using 'Find' does turn up a blank. When I use the CD-ROM install disk I am informed that 'an updated driver is already there'. I have a complete back-up from well before this problem started, but even if I could find this driver I have no idea what I do with it. A search on the internet drew a blank. Can you help me solve this problem? Bob Ephraim |
