| 3669 | 1999-12-27 00:32:00 | I recently re-installed Windows 98 2nd Edition and found that I can no longer save my pass-word in Internet Explorer. It seems that it is necessary to load a password or default password for Windows to ensure that a password can be saved in Internet Explorer. Start/Help/Troubleshooter explains this and suggests that the Windows password dialogue box can be opened to install a pass-word, by going to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Passwords. When I do this all I get is a User Profiles dialogue box set to 'All users, use the same preference....' I have tried re-installing Windows 98 but the Windows password dialogue box is not offered. My service provider as yet can offer no solutions except to perhaps un-install Windows which I am reluctant to do. Can anyone help as this could be a common problem for users wishing to load passwords after initial installation. |
