| 3668 | 1999-12-26 23:34:00 | I have a Mitac 5026 notebook which has been purchased secondhand. Since obtaining this machine the floppy drive has been non functional. I have tried to load drivers etc., but with no luck. Error message of device not ready. Last week I managed to reload windows 95b and noticed that the icon in My Computer identified the floppy as 5.25'. Just for curiosity I ran the MSD program from the win95 cd, the floppy was identified as a 5.25 300k drive. The bios setting is set to 1.44 3.5 floppy, and the only options are 1.44 or no floppy installed. On boot the information screen indicates a 1.44 floppy is installed. Q1 Is the MSD giving correct info Q2 Why is the icon in my computer indicating a 5.25 Q3. How do I get the machine to recognise the floppy drive thank you T.K. |
