Strange thing happened installing a compaq pIII 450. Original OEM specs had c,d,e and f logical drives on a 6.4gb total. I wiped e and f using fdisk and repartitioned them using fat32 so as to make a single d: ..a couple of days later the user comes back to me and asks where his mapped finance drive had gone..looking at the system the e and f drives were back (f was originally mapped as finance and now was taken by the cdrom)..i was baffled as to how this happened...my theory is that for some reason possibly due to norton antivirus or norton2000 the system did not like fat32 and repartitioned it back to fat16 creating a local E: and a f: labelled as * remote * ....is this anywhere near the mark? |
