| 3638 | 1999-12-18 04:04:00 | When I want to connect to the internet for whatever reason, it takes a very long time to do so. It dials, then connects to the remote computer, but takes about a minute from there to verify user name and password. I am running win98 second edition, with Internet Explorer 5, on a PIII 450mhz. Why does it take so long. I have seen other computers running the same software as mine on slower computers and it goes through faster. I have tried playing around with the settings on my internet and modem and nothing works. I have a Dynalink Rockwell HCF Modem. How can I correct this problem, if its a problem at all. My Computer was bought in September this year and has been running well ever since. Thanx -Karlan Zink |
